KYES CHANNEL 5 signed on in January of 1990. In 1993, KYES CHANNEL 5 upgraded its signal to 100,000 watts. We broadcast from Mount Susitna on channels 29 and 80; in Palmer on channel 12; and from the AT&T tower between Kenai and Soldotna on channel 6.

KYES CHANNEL 5 has 100,000 watts covering the Anchorage Metro, Mat-Su Valley and the Kenai Peninsula, and is simulcast statewide on the Alaska Rural Communications Network in selected time periods. KYES CHANNEL 5 is carried on cable in Valdez, Barrow, Unalaska, and Juneau; we are also broadcasting in Kodiak. KYES CHANNEL 5 is also carried on Dish Network!
