If power sparklies come from overhead power lines, you will have to contact the power company. They may have dirty insulators, loose connectors, or other problems. This sort of static usually varies with weather, Small electric motors, Neon signs, florescent lamps, and other electrical devices can also cause this kind of static. Finding the source of static can be difficult. If it originates in your home, turn off one device at a time until the problem goes away. If you suspect a power line, you might track the culprit down, or at least find the area with the noisy power pole with a portable radio. To get this image I used rabbit ears and a coffee grinder.
