KYES CHANNEL 5 signed on in January of 1990. In 1993, KYES CHANNEL 5 upgraded its signal to 100,000 watts. We broadcast from Mount Susitna on channels 29 and 80; in Palmer on channel 12; and from the AT&T tower between Kenai and Soldotna on channel 6.

KYES CHANNEL 5 has 100,000 watts covering the Anchorage Metro, Mat-Su Valley and the Kenai Peninsula, and is simulcast statewide on the Alaska Rural Communications Network in selected time periods. KYES CHANNEL 5 is carried on cable in Valdez, Barrow, Unalaska, and Juneau; we are also broadcasting in Kodiak. KYES CHANNEL 5 is also carried on Dish Network!

KYES CHANNEL 5 is a MyNetworkTV affiliate. We carry Sports, Reality, Specials, and Hit Movies. In addition, we have the best first run syndicated shows in the market; such as: Jerry Springer, Maury, Judge Joe Brown, Rachael Ray,How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy , and The Office and Inside Edition ! We also carry such hit syndicated shows as: Scrubs, According To Jim, Everybody Loves Raymond, Fraiser aand Reno 911.
